Description
It was done in Cinema 4D. When I did the first piece the others came more easily, but the horse was a little bit trickier. I had a tip from a friend to render it with this lighting

Wellcome to GFX!

Which side is white and which side is black ?
If the near side is black then they are set up wrong.
The Queen of white sits on a white square and the Queen of black sits on a Black square.
So as you have it the nearest are white and the far side is black, ???
In addition the board itself is set up wrong. You have the board position turned the wrong way..
When set for the the right hand side when you sit behind your pieces should be WHITE.. the rule is Right is White.
In your image the board is set for draughts !!
Otherwise a good render.. But render what you know and you clearly dont play chess..

So I turned to the task of fixing those problems and I made this new render (which is now posted). I think I got the board position right this time. Sorry for the ooops.
And also thanks to Arzillier 66, NIKa, Mark7th and Phos for their comments.
